yay for clean darkrooms!

This darkroom is less than 100 yards from my studio. I cleaned it up and processed film the other day -- so nice!

Surplus

There is a place on campus called the Surplus Warehouse where departments send things they are done with and other departments can pick over them for themselves. Not only do they have desks and milk pasteurizing equipment, they have every color of wire imaginable!

News from Louisville KY

"Papa John's founder pays $250K for beloved camaro"

I can't believe this, is it a sequel to Talladega Nights? I don't know what's worse, the story itself, or the fact that the news can't spell "Reunion". Ah, Louisville.

Mrs. Smith's photos

I found an envelope of negatives a couple years ago. There was a receipt from "Acmestyle Kodak Finishing" with this handwritten note on it:
"Save these. pictures of my home with my dear Mother and father." Mrs. F.E. Smith. Lexington, KY. One of the negatives was printed and dated Nov 6, 1927. These are just a few of them.

Hellooooo

This is what it's like to be lost on the UConn Campus. Suddenly you look up and don't recognize anything!

Fire

There is a stone grill/fireplace in our backyard. We had our first fire Saturday, all we were missing were marshmallows.

Studio, day two

Jon moved my furniture in today! I painted, rearranged, and brought some plants. Here is my view and my studio on day two.

traffic lights

I know these are really dark, but I'm so excited about the potential in this. There is a traffic light down the street that shines in our window and casts its glow on our wall at night.

green

I've been wondering how many greens my digital camera can see. This patch of grass with sun and shade, moss and grass, was a good test. Plus, it was pretty.

statue

I was kind of amazed to exit the Art Building on the UConn campus to find this statue of a butt...

...then I realized that from another angle it could be an heirloom tomato.
(Then again, so could some butts.)

true love

As much fun as I have with my little digital camera, it was heavenly to make pictures with my 4x5 again after about a month. There is nothing like seeing an image on the ground glass.

But now, for something completely different....Dad and Linda stopped by for a lovely lunch and to bring presents! A hammock for our backyard! And Orchid plants for Jon's birthday! They helped us set up the hammock:

Did I mention that was completely spontaneous and not for the camera?
