squirrel hawk

Actually a red-tailed hawk. It was eating this squirrel you can see in its talons right in the middle of UConn's campus, everyone rushing by to get to class. It let me get very very close as I do not have a powerful telephoto on my little point and shoot. I have video I will upload soon.

Hurricane turned tropical storm Irene

We had a very windy rainy day in Providence and our power flickered once. Nothing at all compared to what I saw on my way in to CT Mon and Tues. The colleges were closed (instead of having the first day of school), the grocery stores were scrambling to keep things refrigerated, every single traffic light was dark, and trees blocked roads in too many places to count. Even the deer seemed a little confused as they crossed the street in front of me.

choose this life

A flower smaller than my finger nail. Outside the library on a railing. Just a tiny message, as if to oneself.

I wonder what came first, the flower or the pole.

Abington Social Library

Hopefully the next library I will be stalking after Knight Memorial, which is in my neighborhood.

Knight Memorial Library

I want to know all about this mysterious lady.

Recent work.

mouse

Since we knew the mouse liked bread, we figured it would also want some cheese, and we caught it. Hungry little bugger.

horseneck beach

This was such an amazing afternoon at the ocean. Fog kept rolling in and rolling back out, the water was unusually warm and the waves were friendly, not violent. The only violence we witnessed was when three seagulls tore a sandwich right out of the hands of a young girl -- as she was trying to eat it. Seagulls are awful!
