photo disasters and other happy accidents

Simcha and Paloma.

If these had turned out the way I wanted them to, perhaps I would become engrossed in the 8x10 again -- something I don't really have time for right now. I admit, I was really disappointed to see the poltergeist on my negatives. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? It is absolutely not double exposure. Maybe bellows light leak? These were taken at different times, days, and locations.

Maddalena had everyone from Paloma to Ya-ya doing handstands on the beach.

with your eyes closed

I wonder what I look like with my eyes closed. So I took pictures of my family with their eyes closed with my 8x10 camera. I took these to show Maddalena what it looked like.

born on the 4th of july

Maddalena's 7th Birthday. The birthday girl.

Her Queen Victoria cake.

The future. Right now these are just walkie talkies, but they are pretending they are college girls talking to their boyfriends.

And "giraffe pose" with Paloma.

tiny dog!

We are spending the week in P-town. It is HEAVEN for dogs and dog-owners. Bowie met this 3 month old mini daschund/pincher while we were out for sandwiches. Jon and Bowie combined are a killer combination in P-town, everyone turns to look at them. (This is before Bowie had enough and swatted the poor little thing.)

queen victoria's cake

I make cakes for my nieces' birthdays. They sometimes request a theme, like Paloma's Supergirl cake last November. This year, Maddalena just wanted a cake, the crazier the better. But Angela, her mom, told me her latest favorite thing is the young Queen Victoria so I went with a Victorian cake. These are the roses and leaves I made out of fondant to decorate it.
