Ok, the fiirst few feet of snow were charming. We stayed inside and drank hot tea and hot cocoa. We watched movies. We went out and dug a path for the dog who was also thrilled with the novelty. Now, another foot or so and things have taken an ugly turn. We couldn't get out of the house this morning because the door had been frozen shut by icicles dripping and refreezing both inside and outside the door. The dog was up to her neck - literally - in snow and had to bunny-hop to get anywhere. The windows in the kitchen were filling up with water - more icicle melting and bad drainage. And last but not least the office ceiling started leaking, or should I say oozing, and dripping all over the mess of wires where the computer and phone are plugged in. Oh Joy! to be in the country in an old house!!! Some days it ain't so hot.
